Experience the English countryside with Forest View Glamping
Tucked away from the narrow, winding roads and rolling hills of the English countryside is the quirkiest and most colorful Airbnb in the county of Dorset, feast your eyes on Forest View Camping.
At first, I thought I had found the Weasley’s tent that Harry Potter stayed in during the Quidditch World Cup, but much cooler – this one was real (and not attacked by the Voldemort).
The Marrakesh Yurt, one of Forest View Glamping’s two accommodations, is about three hours away from London, off-road in the hamlet of Fiddleford, right by the small town of Sturminster Newton. It’s spacious, vibrant and stocked with everything you could possibly need.
There’s a comfortable double bed and beanbag couches, a dining table, mini-fridge, and a wide array of kitchen supplies for your culinary needs. Cards and boardgames are provided, along with a fireplace to keep cozy for autumn and winter stays.
If you need to stock up on food, Sturminster Newton’s Co-Op is only a six-minute drive away.
Outside the tent is an impressive (and I mean impressive) outdoor bath and shower shed – fully stocked and decorated. By the door, you’ll also find a box with all the tools needed for the firepit outside. I was too nervous to use it in fear I’d burn the whole place down, but I’ll be prepared next time.
And if that’s not enough, there’s even a hot tub to relax in underneath the stars.
In the morning, take glamping to the next level by ordering breakfast from the Forest View Camping menu that the lovely hosts leave on the table. You’ll have the loveliest picnic basket delivered to your door with all the breakfast essentials – from a full Dorset breakfast to a delicious baguette au jambon – all with fresh ingredients from the area. REMINDER to place your order before 9 p.m., the night before.
Just make sure the free-range chickens don’t see you devouring the eggs.
My stay at the Marrakesh Yurt was short, but incredibly sweet. Taking that time to reconnect with nature (and myself) in such a dreamy, star-lit setting was all I could ask for.
I’d recommend this place to anyone.
